Short bio

Pandora Gunn is the music of Bridggett Bess: a Frankfurt-born army brat who found her voice singing in German night clubs, then carried it through New York and California. A theatre-trained storyteller, she writes every song as a short story with a beginning, a middle, an end and a character at its centre.

Full bio

Pandora Gunn is the music persona of Bridggett Bess. Born in Frankfurt, Germany and raised wherever the army sent her family, she trained as an actor at North Carolina A&T State University, won the Irene Ryan award for Best Actress in her region and played the lead on the Kennedy Center stage.

Singing came next, almost by accident. Living in Germany and not yet speaking the language, the stage open to her was the night club, so she became a gigging singer and earned a spot at Kammgarn in Kaiserslautern. Back in the States she sang with working bands, among them the Jack Willis Band, Hip Service and Hitlist, and has performed live in Germany, New York and California.

She approaches a song the way an actor approaches a role. Every piece has a beginning, a middle, an end, a theme and a character. She names Prince as the artist who showed her what a true creative looks like.

She is also the creator, producer and a featured vocalist of Chixx that Rock, a variety show of women performers that gives its proceeds to charity, and has released four singles as Pandora Gunn.
